Road Trip

DSC_9209After our adventure at the Grand Canyon we had plans to visit my sister in New Mexico. She lives in a really desolate area, so it was prime for us since we just wanted to relax! On our way there we kept seeing trading posts, signs about blankets, tipis (above photo), and signs about moccasins. The trading posts were so awesome!!! The jewelry they sold was so beautiful, and unique. It made me fall in love with the Midwest, just a little. DSC_9200 DSC_9229 DSC_9268 DSC_9311 DSC_9317After having a much needed couple of days in New Mexico with my sister, we headed out to Phoenix, AZ. On our way there our destination was (dan dadaaaa), THE WAFFLE HOUSE! They have the best waffles, even though they’re super unhealthy, but who even cares about that when it comes to waffles?! I had been craving the waffle house for a while, and well nothing around our area can cure that craving. By the way, if anyone’s wondering, it was the best breakfast ever… Yep!DSC_9332 DSC_9333 DSC_9336 DSC_9347We made our way back to California after our night in Phoenix. Our last hooyah was Dunkin Donuts! Every time I think of Dunkin Donuts, I think back to the mornings where I would go to a drive thru DD before class, and order a medium dunkaccino and a sesame bagel with loads of cream cheese…DSC_9354

I felt like our roadtrip wasn’t too planned, and think that’s the thing I enjoyed the most about it. My husband and I were on the road not knowing what to really expect besides our destination. We saw a much different scenery than we usually see. I loved being in an open road, and sometimes being the only car on the road and thinking about the movie, ‘The Hills Have Eyes.’ It was much needed time away from the busy-ness of California. Sometimes we get so wrapped up in work and things that tend to distract us from what’s good. I got to take a step back and really see what’s good in life, and that all the glory goes to God. Seeing the Grand Canyon and breathing what is the freshest air in America (Yeah, I got that from wikipedia) was amazing. Being able to see my sister again for the second time this year, was a blessing. Spending time with my husband, and reconnecting with him was also a blessing! I’m not sure what’s next, but not knowing is okay with me 🙂
